Overview
Five days is the point at which a Kenya safari stops feeling rushed. This route runs north-west up the Rift Valley to Nakuru, drops back south to Naivasha, and then crosses to the Mara for the last two nights — no backtracking and no day spent entirely in the car.
You end on the strongest note. Nakuru gives you rhino, Naivasha gives you water and a walk, and the Mara gives you two clear days of predators.

Day 1
Nairobi to Lake Nakuru
North-west out of the city and down into the valley. Lunch at your lodge, then an afternoon game drive in the park — the rhino sanctuary, the lake shore and Baboon Cliff for sunset.

Day 2
Nakuru to Lake Naivasha
An early game drive while the park is cool, then the short drive south. Afternoon boat safari among the hippos, followed by a guided walk on Crescent Island if the light holds.

Day 3
Naivasha to the Maasai Mara
West through Narok and onto the Mara plains, arriving early afternoon. Settle in, then an evening game drive as the light turns.

Day 4
Full day in the Mara
Out at dawn with a picnic lunch. The Mara River, the Musiara marsh, the Talek plains — worked in whatever order the morning's sightings suggest. In migration season we sit at the crossings.

Day 5
Morning drive and return
A final drive, breakfast, and the road east through Narok. Nairobi by late afternoon, at your hotel or the airport.
